Returning to Bamburgh after a walk in the direction of Seahouses, the magnificent castle comes into view on the left with dramatic wind-blown low cloud above and the white beach with it’s water-filled shapes carved into the wet sand by the outgoing tide. I did the preparatory reference sketch on a watercolour pad on the beach after a walk back from Seahouses but it was a battle against the high winds to get it done. The finished work was done in oils, from which this print is taken. I used the pastel sketch as reference to paint the scene in oils from which this print was made.


Each card is individually sealed in a cellophane slip and comes with a plain white envelope.
