A sunny morning on the long white sands of Newton with small boats on the beach in front of the dreamy square of old fishermen’s cottages. In the distance the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle are perched on the long rocky outcrop at the South of Embleton Bay. I sat on a large driftwood tree trunk to sketch this scene in soft pastels on a beautiful summer’s morning as a few people strolled with their dogs and children on the beach. The pastel sketch was used as a reference for this finished original oil painting on canvas board.
This original painting is supplied unframed as tastes in framing are such a personal choice.
